随着高速公路在我国逐步修建，交通部公路科研所编制了《高速公路交通安全设施设计及施工技术规范》，对 高速公路的防眩设施提出了明确的要求：高速公路、汽车专用一级公路符合下列情况之一者宜设置防眩设施。
